Built for how properties really work in Africa, and ready for the rest of the world.

Most property software assumes every guest pays by card. Ahohou starts from the way guests really pay in Accra, Lagos, Nairobi and Kumasi: mobile money, bank transfer, cash and card. It works just as well for a short-let in Liverpool.

Mobile money is a first-class payment

Send a mobile money prompt from the front desk, take mobile money on your booking page, and reconcile it like any other payment. Interpay, Paystack and Stripe are supported.

Taxes and levies, your way

Add each tax or levy that applies where you operate, such as VAT, sales tax or a tourism levy. Each one is calculated to the smallest unit of your currency and shown on the tax invoice as its own line. Change a rate once and every open bill follows.

Guests on WhatsApp, doors without keys

Send each guest a private stay link by WhatsApp, SMS or email. Door codes are made for each stay and cancelled at check-out, so nobody has to carry a key to the room.

Everything your property runs on, with one screen for each job.

Each person sees only their own work: front desk, housekeeping, the bar, accounts and the owner.

Front desk

A calendar by unit, bookings in a few taps, check-in and check-out, unit moves, bills and receipts.

Rate plans and seasons price every night. A manual rate needs a manager and is logged.

Booking engine

Your own booking page with live availability, taxes shown, a deposit or full payment, and no commission.

Calendar sync closes your dates on Booking.com, Airbnb and Expedia.

Guest stay page

Online check-in, messages, extras, the bill and payment, on any phone and with no app to install.

Guests accept the privacy notice, and only the last four characters of an ID are kept.

Restaurant, bar and spa

Touch tills for each outlet. Guests can charge to their room when your rules allow it: they are checked in, and a card on file or a deposit covers the order.

Cash drawers open with a float and close with a count. Differences are recorded, never hidden.

Smart rooms

Door codes that last only as long as the stay, remote unlock from the desk and battery alerts, with welcome screens on in-room TVs to follow.

We work with hardware companies for the best smart experience. See smart rooms.

Night audit and ledger

A ledger that is never rewritten, with numbered entries, refunds that need a reason, and a day-end close that freezes the numbers.

Owners see occupancy, average rate, RevPAR and channel mix, plus a record of who did what.

Smart rooms: locks and in-room entertainment.

We work with hardware companies to bring you the best smart experience. Ahohou connects their locks and TVs to your bookings, so the room is ready when the guest arrives and reset when they leave.

Smart locks

A door code made for each stay and cancelled at check-out. Remote unlock from the desk, battery alerts and a log of every door event. TTLock works today, and key cards are supported too.

In-room entertainment

A welcome screen that greets each guest by name, casting from their own phone, and apps that sign out at check-out. Coming with our hardware partners, on Google TV, Chromecast and Samsung hospitality TVs.

How your guests’ money moves

Ahohou never holds your guests’ money and never sees a card number. Payments go to your own provider account, and Ahohou keeps the record.

One price, every feature.

Questions owners ask first

All questions and answers

Which payment methods can guests use?

Mobile money and cards, through the payment provider you connect (Paystack, Interpay or Stripe). Guests pay on the secure page of your own provider. Staff can also send a mobile money prompt from the front desk, and can record cash and bank transfers.

Does Ahohou hold my money?

No. Guest payments go straight into your own provider account. Ahohou never sees a card number. It records each payment once, against the right bill, with the name of the person who took it.

Does it work with Booking.com, Airbnb and Expedia?

Yes, through calendar sync. Bookings from those sites come into Ahohou, and your dates close on every site. Calendars are checked every 15 minutes. Your own booking page takes direct bookings with no commission.
